CLASSICAL ARCHITECTURE IS A HUMANISTIC APPROACH TO MAKING BUILDINGS AND CIVIC SPACES THAT SUPPORT HEALTH AND WELL BEING.

Mission: The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art Rocky Mountain Chapter is dedicated to advancing the practice and appreciation of the classical tradition in architecture and the allied arts in our region. The ICAA RMC fulfills our mission by educating our community through lectures, tours and educational workshops and celebrating excellence in the classical tradition through award ceremonies and scholarships. the rocky mountain chapter is based in Denver and serves Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho.

Vision: To enrich the future of design for our region and educate the community on the ideal that the classical tradition is a humanistic approach to design that enhances our overall health and well-being

Our chapter brings classical architecture and arts to the region through sponsored public and member-only events, including guest lecturers, workshops, award ceremonies and home tours. As an organization we fulfill our mission through four program areas: education, publications, awards, and advocacy.

Education

ICAA provides a forum and comprehensive educational resource for students, design and building professionals, and the general public, both in the United States and in Europe.

Academic Programs

Continuing education courses; study and drawing tours; seminars; intensive winter and summer programs for professionals; and academic partnerships extending a unique curriculum.; and in our chapter through a partnership with the University of Colorado, College of Architecture and Planning.

Public Education Programs

Includes lectures, exhibits, walking and travel tours, and conferences on classical architecture and the allied arts.

Publications

The ICAA publishes an annual journal, The Classicist, and new and reprinted books on classical design through The Classical America Series in Art and Architecture. The Forum, a newsletter for members, is published twice per a year, complemented by a lively array of email updates from across the country throughout the year online at the ICAA Bookstore.

Awards

Through the annual national Arthur Ross Awards ceremony, and in our chapter through the Jacques Benedict Award ceremony, the ICAA recognizes excellence by honoring the achievements and contributions of architects, painters, sculptors, artisans, landscape designers, patrons, and others in preserving and advancing the classical tradition.
